Green light given to return of Dubai concerts and events
Step by step, it seems that Dubai is finally emerging from the worst of the coronavirus crisis and re-establishing some sense of ‘normality’ – or at least, as close to normality as can currently be achieved amid the sweeping changes that the pandemic has forced to lives around the globe.
The most recent reason for encouragement comes in the form of a government directive dated August 3, which states that concerts and live events can now resume in the locality.
It is also, however, one more reason to be vigilant, including – if need be – requesting the highest standard of cleaning services in Dubai for your events venue from a suitably reputable provider, such as Renovo.
What requirements are in place for events?
As reported by Time Out Dubai, strict health and safety rules have been implemented for local events, to help to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19. They include a need for the full sanitisation and thermal screening of anyone entering an event.
While concerts and live events are now once more allowed to take place in both indoor and outdoor settings in Dubai, the directive sets out the capacity and social distancing regulations that must be enforced.
For seated events, for example, social distancing of at least two metres is required, which equates to one person every four square metres. A chequerboard seating pattern must also be used, including in VIP suites, with two seats being kept vacant between each person or group of people.
The directive also encourages the purchasing of tickets for events online, and where there is a need to queue at box offices, social distancing markers must be displayed on floors.
These are just some of the requirements that the directive puts in place for event organisers, with others including a staggered time system for access, staff and ushers wearing masks at all times, and the routine sanitisation of events.
The latter must be done every 30 minutes for events of more than 25 people, every hour for events of under 25 people, and at the end of the day and at the end of each event.
